Overview
Research Studio is a research analysis workspace built for people who end up with a folder of customer interviews and no time to read them.
It accepts more than eight file formats - PDFs, video, audio, Word and Excel among them - across more than 99 languages, and transcribes them unlimited on the paid tiers.
Instead of burying you in transcripts, it exposes a canvas of draggable smart widgets: Personas, Jobs to Be Done, Statements, User Journey, User Stories, Competitors and Questions Analysis.
Drop a widget on the canvas and it pulls that layer out of the material you imported, which is the difference between an AI summary and a set of artifacts a stakeholder can actually use. For marketers the value is upstream of campaigns rather than inside them.
A persona widget is an ICP document generated from what customers actually said; the Jobs to Be Done list is messaging material; sentiment-tagged statements surface the language people use about the problem, which is the raw input for positioning and ad copy; the journey map separates assumption from verified behaviour; and the competitor widget pulls rival operations together with a link to each site, which makes it a light substitute for a standalone competitive-research subscription.
An AI assistant answers questions against your own material, and can be switched to "Broad Knowledge" mode when you want it to reason beyond the imported files.
Everything exports to Notion in a click, which is where most teams will store the output. Pricing is publicly listed and easy to reason about.
Individual (Freelancer) is $12 per month billed yearly - the panel says pay for nine months and get twelve, about 25% off - or $24 month to month, and Business is $15 per user per month billed yearly or $30 monthly.
Both tiers advertise unlimited transcription hours; individuals get a free 3-day trial with no credit card, Business gets a 7-day trial for up to five users, and there are refund windows of 7 to 14 days plus a 60% discount for students and teachers.
The honest limits are scope and plumbing: this is a UX research tool that marketers borrow, Notion is the only published destination for results, and nothing connects to your survey, analytics or support stack - the research has to arrive as files.
Use Cases
Turn a batch of customer interview recordings into personas and a Jobs to Be Done list for positioning work
Mine sentiment-classified statements for the exact words customers use about their problem, as input for ad copy
Build a customer journey map from mixed interview, video and spreadsheet evidence before a redesign
Produce a quick competitor snapshot with links to rival sites while planning an entry strategy
Analyse multilingual interview material from different regions without separate transcription services
Who Is This For
Marketing and product marketers who run customer interviews and need shareable output
Founders validating a positioning or ICP decision from real conversations
UX researchers and designers who want lighter tooling than a full research repository
Agencies that pitch with customer evidence rather than assumptions
Multilingual teams analysing interviews across several markets
Key Features
Multilingual transcription across 8+ formats
PDFs, Word, Excel, video and audio are all accepted for analysis across more than 99 languages, with unlimited transcription hours listed on both paid tiers.
Drag-and-drop analysis widgets
Personas, Jobs to Be Done, Statements, User Journey and User Stories are generated by dropping a widget onto the canvas, so each layer of insight is produced on demand rather than in one unreadable summary.
Competitor widget with source links
The competitors widget gathers rival operations into one view and links out to each company's site, giving a benchmark snapshot without a separate competitive-intelligence subscription.
Sentiment and question analysis
Comments and statements are classified by sentiment, and previously asked questions are reviewed and categorised so the next research round starts where the last one stopped.
AI assistant and one-click Notion export
A context-aware assistant answers research questions from your own files - or from broad knowledge when you switch modes - and any result exports into Notion to centralise findings.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Pricing is published in both cycles: $12 per month billed yearly (pay nine months, get twelve) or $24 monthly for freelancers, and $15 per user billed yearly or $30 monthly on Business
- Unlimited transcription hours are listed on both paid tiers, which is unusual for research platforms that meter processing
- Analysis covers 8+ file types in more than 99 languages, so multilingual interviews, spreadsheets and video all feed the same canvas
- The widget model produces deliverables - persona, JTBD, journey, sentiment statements - rather than just a transcript and a chat box
- The competitor widget gives a quick benchmark plus links to rival sites without adding another subscription
- A 3-day individual trial needs no credit card, Business gets a 7-day trial for up to five users, and students and teachers get 60% off
Cons
- Notion is the only published destination for results, so teams living in Figma, Slack or a docs suite will be copying and pasting
- It is a user-research product at heart: marketing value is upstream (positioning, ICP, copy) and it will not run campaigns, track performance or touch ad data
- No integrations with survey, analytics, CRM or support platforms are published - research only enters as uploaded files
- Business pricing is per user per month, which climbs quickly for a team of five or more compared with the $12 freelancer tier
- There is no ongoing free tier beyond the trial, so evaluation is time-boxed before you have to commit

We read the pricing section of researchstudio.ai on 26 September 2026. Annual: Individual (Freelancer) $12 per month with the note 'pay for 9 months, get 12' and a 25% off badge; Business $15 per user per month on the same 9-for-12 basis. Monthly: $24 and $30 respectively. Both paid tiers list unlimited transcription hours, and the company (Black Device SRL) advertises a 3-day trial without a credit card for individuals, a 7-day trial for up to five users on Business, refund periods of 7 to 14 days, and a 60% discount for students and teachers.

Editorial view: the widget approach is what makes this useful to a marketer rather than just a transcript tool - a persona, a Jobs to Be Done list and sentiment-tagged statements come out as stakeholder-ready artifacts instead of another summary nobody reads, and unlimited transcription hours on both tiers keeps costs predictable when you upload a batch of interviews. Two limits are worth pricing in. Notion is the only published export destination, so a team on a different stack should treat the output as something to rebuild. And there are no connections to survey, analytics, CRM or support tools, so the research has to be gathered and exported as files first - which means it complements a support or analytics dataset rather than replacing it.
