Overview

Mailshake is a cold email and sales engagement platform built for outbound: you import a prospect list, build a multi-step sequence (initial email plus follow-ups), connect one or more mailboxes, and Mailshake sends, throttles and tracks it.

Around that core it bundles the unglamorous work that decides whether outbound works at all - unlimited email warmup, unlimited email verification, spam and deliverability checks, A/B testing, a unified inbox, and a set of free utilities such as a cold email generator and an AI rewrite tool.

AI writing is handled by a component the company calls SHAKESpeare, which drafts copy from a short prompt. Pricing is published with monthly and yearly figures side by side.

Starter is $29 per month ($25 billed yearly) and includes one email address per account with 1,500 sends a month, unlimited uploaded contacts, unlimited campaigns, unlimited warmup and verification, and 50 free Data Finder credits.

Email Outreach is $49 per month ($45 yearly) and removes the send cap, adds a second address, email rotation, advanced scheduling and throttling, personalisation, a unified inbox, Salesforce, Pipedrive and HubSpot integrations and 1,000+ Zapier connections.

Sales Engagement is $99 per month ($85 yearly) for 10 addresses, 2,500 Data Finder credits, five phone numbers, a power dialer and unlimited dialer minutes to North American numbers.

Data Finder, which finds business contact details, is a separate add-on at $19 per month ($17 yearly). That structure tells you who Mailshake suits.

It is not a newsletter or transactional email service - Mailchimp and similar platforms own that job - and it is not a full CRM.

It is for teams whose acquisition depends on cold outbound at volume: agencies running campaigns for clients, SDR teams, and founders doing founder-led sales.

Two things to plan for before subscribing: there is no free plan and no free trial (Mailshake states payment is collected up front, with concierge onboarding included instead), and the Send caps on Starter make the $49 Email Outreach tier the realistic entry point for anyone sending more than about 70 emails a working day.

Use Cases

Running cold email sequences with follow-ups to book discovery calls

Multi-mailbox rotation for agencies sending on behalf of several clients

Warming and verifying sending domains before a campaign goes live

Enriching a prospect list with Data Finder credits and pushing it to a CRM

Adding cold calling to an email sequence with a browser dialer and phone scripts

Who Is This For

Agencies that run outreach campaigns for clients

SDR and BDR teams sending at volume

Founders doing founder-led outbound sales

Recruiters and consultants prospecting from a contact list

Marketing teams that need verified, warmed sending infrastructure

Key Features

Sequences, mail merge and follow-ups

Build multi-step campaigns with automated follow-ups and mail merge, then A/B test subject lines and copy; the pricing page lists automated email sequences and A/B testing on every plan.

Deliverability stack included

Unlimited email warmup and unlimited email verification are included on all plans, and the Email Outreach tier adds email rotation and advanced scheduling and throttling to spread sends across mailboxes.

AI email writing and free utilities

AI email writing via SHAKESpeare generates copy in under a minute, and Mailshake publishes free tools - a cold email generator and an AI rewrite email tool - that work without a subscription.

Unified inbox and CRM integrations

Email Outreach and above connect Salesforce, Pipedrive and HubSpot, add a unified inbox across replies, a prospects view, a browser extension for LinkedIn, and more than 1,000 integrations through Zapier.

Multichannel dialer

Sales Engagement adds five phone numbers, a power dialer with unlimited free dialer minutes to North American numbers, phone scripts, lead temperature scoring and account-level organisation with custom tasks.

Data Finder prospecting (add-on)

Data Finder searches business contacts by role, location or company. Each plan includes a bundle of free credits - 50 on Starter and Email Outreach, 2,500 on Sales Engagement - and further use is billed as an add-on at $19 per month.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Unlimited uploaded contacts, campaigns, warmup and email verification on every plan, including the $29 Starter tier
  • Transparent two-column pricing: $29/$49/$99 per month, or $25/$45/$85 with yearly billing
  • Deliverability tooling (warmup, verification, rotation, throttling) is bundled rather than sold as a separate service
  • CRM connectors for Salesforce, Pipedrive and HubSpot plus 1,000+ Zapier integrations from the $49 tier
  • Agency plan covers unlimited email addresses and quotes on volume, which suits client-facing outbound teams

Cons

  • No free plan and no free trial - Mailshake states payment is collected up front, so evaluation is a paid decision
  • Starter is capped at 1,500 sends per month from a single email address, which is thin for real outbound volume
  • Data Finder is a separate subscription: $19 per month monthly or $17 yearly, on top of the plan you already pay for
  • The dialer, phone numbers and unlimited North American dialer minutes only exist on the $99 Sales Engagement tier
  • Agency pricing is quote-only, so multi-client agencies cannot budget from the public page

Read from mailshake.com/pricing: Starter $29 per month with 1 email address and 1,500 sends, Email Outreach $49 per month with unlimited sends and email rotation, Sales Engagement $99 per month with 10 addresses and a power dialer, each with a yearly rate of $25, $45 and $85 respectively. Data Finder is listed separately at $19 per month, or $17 billed yearly, and the page states plainly that there is no free trial and payment is collected up front.

The reason this scores well is where the money lands: unlimited contacts, warmup and verification on the cheapest tier, and deliverability mechanics like rotation and throttling appearing at $49 rather than behind a sales call. The caveats we would flag before purchase are the 1,500-send ceiling on Starter, Data Finder being a second subscription, and the dialer and North American dialer minutes being a $99-tier feature only.
